Parrots and Poultry Concerns about Health

I have 3 parrots. I volunteer for a wildlife group and raise ducklings. All kinds of ducklings. When they are just a few days old until they are 4 weeks old they are kept in my house in the spare guest bath. I am curious if anyone knows whether of not there are any health concerns I should be aware of that may place my parrots in jeopardy? I do wash my hands thoroughly after I go into the duck room and before I touch my parrots, but is that enough? Any advice here from somebody with knowledge of poultry would be extremely helpful.

I wouldn't risk anything- Maybe you could change your top layer of clothing afterwards as well as washing hands, in case of air born illnesses. Especially if they are wild ducklings, if not you could be a little less stressed. I had baby chickens from a day old that my parrot would love to investigate! I had to keep her away from their tub, but it was hard! I always washed my hands and after they got older and started molting their baby fluff I changed my jumper. What fun to have baby ducklings so often!

Another thought. I agree with washing hands and changing top clothes. I change my clothes anytime I've been out of the house and come home before I handle my macaw. Wash hands and arms, since that's where he stands, and use the hand sanitizer on my hands and arms. I keep bottles of it all over the house and keep it in my purse too.
