hi every one aint been on the site 4 a week or so i think, bin realy busy with all my university assignments but thats all over now.

anyway thers been sum major birdy progress in my life. u all my recollect me going on about wanting a 2 and people were saying you dont no wat ur letting ur self in to, ther very noisy n very demanding and all the usual stuff.

anyway iv just come back from this ladies place who was selling the 2 and for the first time ever tuched an umbrella 2. wait till u hear this

i walked into her house (this total strangers house) and into her living room n all i c is 2 giant wings heading my way. He walked stright on to my sholder and put its head into my t-shirt. u cannot posibly understand the emotion i was going through. iv been wanting this bird for about 7 months or more. i fell in love with him stright away.

i talked to the lady for an hour or so, she told me about the bad history of the bird being cooped up in a budgie cage, not being able to fly. (apparently he was on one of the shipments of birds that came over into england a little while back, most of them had 2 b put down).

he was about 12 years old n she had him for six; he was the most sweetest thing iv ever seen. hes realy timid, doesent like any toys hes scared of em, and will ONLY eat SOME seeds. hes hasent talked, n has never plucked since shes had him.

n e way to cut this very long story short, 2morrow at about 11 am G.M.T I am officialy going to be the very proud owner of Casper the Umbrella 2

hes gunna cost me about £800 which is a bit steep for a student
but at the time i diddnt care, i'll jus av 2 start doing a few paper rounds

Congratulations. He sounds like a great bird. By the way (I might have already asked this!) whereabouts in London are you? I am from Surrey :icon_smil

Congratulations on your "Casper". I have owned two sulfer crested cockatoos (about 20 years ago and don't have them anymore). The cockatoos are just so beautiful - i am biased also as I am an Aussie. I did find for town living they are too noisy, and they just love to be loved, which can be annoying at times, but apart from that they are beautiful. I still have a galah (rose breasted cockatoo) and she is lovely. She does not talk much, only says hello, screams when she does not like something, (like the dogs being inside ha ha), but she has a lovely personality. She hates my eclectus, but does not try to bite her, just gets away from her and screams.

Good luck and many happy years with your new friend.
