Bird mites???

Hi all--I have a two year old parrotlet that I have adopted--she is a feather plucker--I have had her for about 2 1/2 months. She came with paperwork from her owner saying she was fine medically and had been checked for all medical causes of feather plucking. She still plucks, although I gave her a bigger cage adn give her lots of attn. However, I have developed these itchy red recurring bites? My primary care dr doesn't know what they are--I have an appt with the dermotologist next month. Do you think it is possible that Phoebe has mites or bugs and they are biting me as well?? I am bringing Phoebe to the vet next week---but was just wondering if anyone has had a reaction like this to bird mites or after they got a new bird????
