Heads Up, Please Everyone Read

Dear members:

Hi, this is the Outlaw and I'm delighted to have been part of the process that brought us our own in-house team of experts. It is intended that all the questions in the Experts forums be fielded BY the experts we have selected. You may, of course, reply AFTER the question as been addressed, but this forum is really for those people with species related problems that would normally seek out well-known and knowledgable recognized experts.

Please feel free to address OTHER questions in the Bird Talk forum or under the species categories at the bottom of the list of forums. The Experts forums have been reserved for our crack team of behaviorists, breeders and writers. Sorry for the confusion. I thought that Keev was going to explain how we were going to use this facility and I guess he just figured I would (LOL). In the words of the warden from Cool Hand Luke, "What we have here is a failure to communicate." Hope that helps explain things.

Please wait until a response is posted before the next question is asked.

Oh, forgot to mention, the Experts weren't supposed to start fielding questions until Tuesday, February 1.

Hi Nancy,

I didn't realize that the post was in the ask the experts forum until later. It came up on the new posts list. On the new posts list the sub forums for the experts don't look any different than the other forums.

Maybe they need to be renamed or flagged so that they will be distinguishable from posts in the regular catagories.

Jill:

Everytime I visit, something has changed (LOL). When I last looked, we had both Ask The Experts and the species. I think I can safely say its "a work in progress". I'm really sorry for the confusion. I'm not the designer.

I figured that the more specific areas was for the experts and since we do not have experts for all that the board underneath the specific experts was still open.... eh, conufsed...

Yipes, I didn't even know there were seperate forums. I hope I haven't outstepped my bounds. I know I don't really check what forum the topic is in, I'll have to watch out for that in the future.

I myself never post a reply to a question unless I actually have the bird in question or have had experience with what the question is addressing. I've noticed a few people, one in particular, who has given advice in just about every forum, whether or not 'they' have or have ever had that particular species. I think we need to step back and let 'macaw people' answer 'macaw questions'. You can insert any species in there.

Please, just one question at a time for the Ask the Experts section. That was our agreement with them. As for the species area, do as you think appropriate.

HI guys! Nancy, thanks for the clarification... makes perfect sense to me. Perhaps the mods can sticky this in the "new" ask the experts section and call it something like Forum Rules, or Forum Etiquette... jmho.

And, as always, you're wonderful :eusa_clap
