i always share food and water, as long as it's beak only, not feet!! boo's always climbing all over me, going inside my top, trying to pick random pimples and sores, picking off my mascara, trying to put his head INSIDE my mouth, kissing me constantly.

he's such an attention whore.

Actually, Ash put her head inside my mouth once! :O She's like a lion tamer! A big no no because human salivas no good for birdies :p But yes... no feet. We all know they don't think twice about tottling through their own excrement! That goes for tails too!

Scarley also goes after my glasses, but I don't trust her around me when I'm on the phone cos it never fails,,,SHE ATTACKS MY EAR! OMG! She also climbs into my shirt. I'm just toooo ticklish for her to stay long.

But for the most part I trust her. She gets out alot more than ever. Such as riding in the car, going to the store & bank with me. People seem to enjoy her little visits.
Now you say you bring her to the bank and store with you and in the car? How do you keep her from flying away? I've read that even when your birds wings are clipped, they can still catch an updraft.

HAHAHA, I love when my Ash tries to be curious with my mascara. In the corner of my eye I'll see those black beady eyes looking at my eye.

Food, I share, if it's veggies and safe for my birds to eat.

My birds constantly play and pick at my hair..

My CAG is just the sweetest thing in the world and even with that big beak I will let her preen my eye lashes and such. She tries to comb my hair some, but it never turns out very well. What I find cute and love to see her do is when she feels my tattoos with her beak and tongue it's so funny to watch. One thing I do let her do which I know I shouldn't is letting her play with my eye brow ring - I know that she can easily rip the whole thing out and leave me with a big hole in my face, that just me a little to trusting when it comes to pets. I'm the same person who will walk under my horses stomach or stand directly behind him less then an inch away from his legs, or sit on the ground will I am granzing him and have him inches from. I'm an idiot, I know.

If that's being an idiot then I don't know what that makes me. I used to have a horse that was a nervous wreck 90% of the time and she used to lay down to take naps and I would lean up against her stomach and read a book!

As far as my birds are concerned, Zeke can be agressive so he is not allowed to do too much but sit on my hand or sit next to me....no shoulders for him
Sophie is my sweetheart and she preens my eyebrows, hair, plays with my glasses and loves to snuggle under my chin. She can do anything since she has never bit anyone at all.
Chloe and Moe are just starting to let me pick them up so they are yet to be determined and the babies are just little stinks who haven't figured out that my ears do NOT need to be pierced again!

Question: How many of you who have replied have had these birds since a young age?

Comment: I travel with my birds, but I keep them in their cages in the car; it is very very dangerous to do otherwise. I know of a woman who hit a deer at 80 mph. Her bird was out and about, not in her cage which in this case was lucky cuz the cage was in the front and the cage exploded during the crash. Now think about this...I no longer keep my birds in front seat, cuz you wouldn't a child, but why even let an animal loose in the car? You are giving them control over a situation that they have no business in , they don't know how dangerous cars are.

I trust my birds to an extent, like one should trust people. I love my birds and I like to believe they love me, but life is subject to changes and that's that.

I probably wouldnt share this with anyone outside of the board....

My girlfriend and I live alone together. When we set the dinner table we set a spot for him as well. Turn one of the chairs around and he sits on the back with a food dish hanging off the back full of fresh veggies and a plate below to catch the mess he makes.

He loves it, it makes him feel apart of the family. A little hard to explain when we have company and we don't do this, hes in his cage trying to pull the lock on the door up so he can get out and join us. He also joins us for breakfest when I'm not doing my shifts.

Otherwise we both trust him a lot. I even play fight with him, we both get down on the floor and I start poking at him and he tries to bite me in return, when he does catch me he doesnt bite hard, he knows we are playing. He loves it to, if I don't start it he will!

I also hope to have him free flighted outdoors. I have been reading a lot on it and speaking with others with experience. At this point when I call for him in the house he comes to my shoulder.

Yeah, I never gave a second thought about standing directly behind my horse, even though she kicked my grandfather for doing the same thing. She was a rescue, and was my angel, and didn't trust anyone but me. And I trusted her 100%. She got out one day and was bucking and kicking with both front and back feet - my parents were really scared and kept standing back, but I just walked up to her (within a safe distance, of course) and yelled "Diamond, calm down!" and she immediately stopped and walked up to me. But to her, everyone else she had ever been owned by had beaten her so bad she had scars until she died. The rescue actually gave her to me because I was the only one she trusted.

My bird's favorite place to be is on my chest when I'm lying down watching TV, with her beak resting nicely on my cheek, right on the edge of my lips. Everyone thinks I'm crazy to let her do that, but it's something we've done since she was first weaned, and it's our way of loving and cuddling.

I also let her stick her head into our popcorn bowl and steal some (we pop our own and eat it au natural because fiance is allergic to something in the "butter" of microwave popcorn). When Brian isn't paying attention and takes too much popcorn from the side she was eating out of and makes it so she can't reach anymore, she'll turn her head sideways and stare at him until he fixes it. And if i fix it instead, she'll keep staring at him until he says he's sorry. It's hilarious. And i don't think she eats any of the popcorn. I think she just likes the way it explodes in her beak.
