If you can't find any in your local pet stores, try going to your closest vet and ask for some Vet Wrap. That's what I have seen on pvc perches and playgyms. I'm sure they don't normally sell it but if you explain what you use it for, they could surely spare a few rolls or order you some!

Wink

I asked about this from a friend who told me that pet stores or tack shops that deal with horses have vet wrap...it is used for wrapping horses legs. I have not had a chance to look for it myself yet but will be soon!!! I also heard the tape that athletes use to wrap bats with works well also!Good luck.

The problem I've had with vet wrap is that it gets VERY sticky, and collects just about everything that touches it. It also unravels after a while. So, while it is good short term, you will probably have to change it frequently to keep it clean.

I don't care for vet wrap because it does get filthy mighty quick. If you are simply trying to make better traction on PVC or manzanita gyms, why not simply use some very coarse sand paper. That roughs the surfaces, but leaves no residue. You can sand the surfaces easily enough or if you have a drill and a wire wheel, you can do the same thing. A Dremmel works, too.
