That IS great! I'm not a fan of the export of wild birds for any reason UNLESS they are in deed already threatened (habitat loss, disease, etc) and humans are only trying to get them to breed and get babies back in the wild to recolonize... And then, as that goal is reached, MAYBE use them to introduce that species into the pet market from already-captive birds.
We have enough birds in the market and in rescues. We don't need wild ones! |

Actually, I don't think this will do much... but I think it's good that their trying... I don't think that anyone capturing these creatures will stop just because the law doesn't permit it!

There is a ban in place in the United States but most countries still allow the impotation/exportation of wild birds. Unfortunantly they probably will still catch them but if it isn't illegal, then they can't prosecute the people that are doing it so it's a step in the right direction! Not only that but hopefully it will be harder to export the illegally caught birds.
