How much should a blue and Gold Macaw weigh?

On her second day here I got Hannah on a scale and she is 815 grams, is that normal for a 9 month old B&G? She is Gobbling down everything I give her and from the looks of it she has never experienced bout 99% of what I am giving her, she seems to act like she doesn't even know how to chew it up. I am pretty sure that the guy I got her from was only having her on a small seed diet other than the formula that he was feeding her(no wonder she took so long to ween)..........LMB

the avg weight is around 900-1100, but some weigh more, and others weigh less. i had a runty blue and gold that only weighed about 800g, and another monster of a blue and gold that weighed more than 1100g.

shes still a baby, give her some time to gain the weight back. when they learn to fly they loose weight, but they gain it back as they wean and really start eating their adult foods. yours might also just be smaller like mine was. keep track of her weight at the same time each day, and if she starts loosing weight, then you should take her to the vet, but as long as she eats and poops just fine and maintains her weight, she should be ok :)

Ya she is gaining weight now and is now up to 830 grams, well she should be, she is eating everything in sight! her poops got a little watery though so I am going to keep an eye on it, but I don't think anything is wrong 'cause she is eating so many things that she has never had a chance to even try and her body is just getting used to all the new foods, but then again that is just my opinion.........LMB
