I'm SO HAPPY!!

I could have put this in the Macaw forum but I wanted EVERYBODY to see...
I have on my hand my Purple Parrot arm protector (gives me/ and him) confidence we need. This was an awesome experience. I have scritched a few times before this only for a few seconds. He snaps at me some but we kept talking about it and touching his beak and we ended up doing this for a good ten minutes or so a few times. He is enjoying this and learning about me - he still snaps but I dont pull away (thanks to the mit) and he has never got ahold yet. I'm so happy I could bust its so hard to be calm. He hasn't had this expirience himself in over ten years! The arm protector has the last three fingers exposed so he is getting a good scritch and closed his eyes a few times. Gosh, I'm sorry to be so long but this is just the best!!!!!

IMG! Its so cool, hubby got up on his crutches to take the pics out the front dooR!!!!

Oh he gets on my arm easy, rides around, no big deal. He has been in the shower with me as well. its just the touch thing. He has never been mean. Everything he does is based on fear and trust. i know he was touched and loved by his first mommy of 30 years (I can tell) but his second owners were afraid of him and I dont think they needed to be. I think he defended himself and bluffed them and they were eternally feared of him. He doesnt seem to have a mean bone at all - just fear. I dont think he was abused at all, just no trust in him ment no trust from him. Hard to explain what I sense... do you get it? Its interesting to "read him", to look into his eyes...
