What are the differences between rigneck parakeets and alexandrine parakeets?

Ringnecks

An alexandrine is in the ringneck family. It's much larger, I think a better talker, much more destructive, doesn't come in all the Indian ringneck mutations, and is a bit more expensive. They need lots of handling to keep them social. Males are very good looking.

The size is the largest difference. Alexandrines are better looking In my opinion, their tail feathers are longer. I have not owned ringnecks, just Alexes. Mine are very sweet and loving, and they try to talk. The are not found as often as the ringnecks. The males when full grown (2 - 3 years) have a beautiful color of pink around thier necks. This site as some pictures of alexes. .
