Speaking of water bottles . . .

My sun conure is a master dunker when it comes to his water bowl, so I put him on a water bottle awhile ago and thought that would be the end of the problem . . .

The water bottle is held on the cage with this little spring thing. Looks like this --> Lixit "Snapple Juice" Water Bottle Spring, 1 pc: WindyCityParrot.com, Parrot Cages, Parrot Food, Aviaries, Parrot Supplies,Bird Toys,Bird Cages. Anyway, the little stinker has figured out that if he grabs the end of the clip and drags it down, his water bottle goes CRASH onto the floor & mom goes running to put it back (over and over and over ...)!

Anyone else have this problem & how did you fix it? I was thinking of zip tying the ends of the clips in place, but I'm wondering if there's anything harmful in the plastic he might ingest if he chews on it. Ideas, please?

Thanks!

I use the farnam flip and fill - it has its own holder that bolts on.
Amazon.com: FLIP AND FILL BOTTLE 16 OZ.: Kitchen & Dining

On small birds Kel and I use the mini bungies and shorten them up by tying a knot in one side and making them tight.
