Bird fruit pellet question

I'm feeding my GCC Zupreem Avian maintenance fruit pellets and he eats it (except for the banana shaped ones), but it makes his poop red and staining, presumably from the dyes.
Are there dye-free pellets that have similar nutrition?
Thanks BB!

There are lots of natural pellets out there. ZuPreem makes one as does Harrison. I haven't had a lot of luck getting Dave to move past the fruit flavored ones. I'm grateful I was able to get to move him to pellets but you are right, the end product does stain. I've had good luck with Aviclean Cage and Aviary Cleaner at getting the stains out of a light tan carpet. I hope this is helpful to you.

Dave doesn't eat the grape. We should trade out!

I too use Aviclean and it seems to break down everything. I have two fruit pellet eating conures and every week their cages come out clean and so far so does the carpet. I have tried switching them to natural and they will eat it but are much happier on the fruit blend. I think they just like to watch me work hard cleaning their stuff.

Get some of the naturals of the same brand and mix them in a tiny bit at a time until its all naturals over a period of weeks.

You can also try white vinegar it works great on carpet. You can poor it straight from the bottle and your carpet should come clean easily without scrubbing.
