WHAT someone is selling a breeding B&G macaw cock for $9000!!! RIP OFF!! They are $7,000 hand raised. Plus the hens are the ones that cost more for breeding.

What was disturbing was that there was one listing for a Blue & Gold Macaw stating that the bird was "declawed." WHAT? WHY? WHO WOULD DO THAT?

Im excited Ive found a breeder who sells B&G Mccaws for only $800 !! Been emailing her over the last week and trying to suss out whether she is legitimate or not and starting to think she is. They breed mccaws, greys and Hyacinth (?) mccaws. If its legit Im getting me one!!!! That would be a dream come true.

Ok.....it wont be legit...just warning you. Hyacinth macaws arent supposed to be bred and sold to the public in australia. They are an "illegal" bird and could be taken by the government if found. Plus No one would sell a macaw for less than $4000 esp. a B&G as they fetch high prices anyway. Just a heads up. Blue and golds go for $7,000 and MAYBE as low as (but most likely not) $5,000 (they should drop to $5,000 in a few years). Greys are at least $5,000+. The last hyacinth sold here (illegally) was sold for $58,000. Maybe it was an american breeder not australian? Otherwise I wouldn't give any money unless you are given the bird and vet checked it first or make sure it isnt stolen.

If a Macaw is declawed how hard would it be for it to perch...balance? I have never heard of such a strange practice, it sounds quite cruel actually.
