Either the Birdboard albums or Photobucket. You can find links in my signature for more help.

Posting pictures with your posts is rather easy on this board. I'm going to try and give you the simple easy version.

First note that most pictures you take with a digital camera have too large a file size to be uploaded in that form. Therefor, they need to be resized to a smaller format. There are a number of programs out there that can do it for you and instructions on how to do that I cannot include, but let's just say that a photo that is much larger than 400x400 is little large for the web and you should consider resizing it down to a maximum of 400 pixels height and 400 pixels width (maintaining the aspect ratio of course) will make your photo's file size much more managable. Saving your photo's as JPG's is best as they offer the smallest file sizes at the best viewing quality.

OK, now that you have your photo's ready to be attached to a post (like I said, too many different programs out there for me to give you step by step instructions on that part) you're ready to attach them to a post.

Ready? it's really easy...
  1. Either click on "Post Reply" within any post or start a "New Thread" in any forum area. (If you use the reply box at the bottom of each forum area, click the "Go Advanced Button").
  2. After you type in your post (before hitting the "Submit Reply" Button) scroll down below that into the "Additional Options Area"
  3. Within that area you will see button called "Manage Attachements", before clicking on this, make sure you have any pop-up blockers allowing pop-ups from this site (this is a good site to always trust, as there's no "nasty" pop-ups anyway from here) and then click on the button.
  4. A new window will appear and within that window you are provided with a couple of options. One is to upload from your computer and the other is to upload from another web page (like myspace.com or photobucket.com), my example is going to be to upload from your computer, so click the "Browse" button.
  5. Another new window should appear, navigate thru your computer to where you saved your pictures (hopefully properly resized) and select one and click OK.
  6. Now you're back to the "Manage Attachments" window again. Next to the "Browse" button is an "Upload" button. Click on it. Your file is now being uploaded to the BirdBoard to be attached to your post! Pretty cool huh? Depending on your internet connection speed it may take a few minutes to upload your picture, just be patient.
  7. Once it's finished you will see on the main window for the BirdBoard (below the area where you had typed in your post) in the Attach files section is a link to your picture.
  8. You can repeat this process for a total of five pictures!
  9. Once done... click on the "Submit Reply" button and you're done!

Your post is live now with thumbnails (smaller versions of your pictures) viewable below your post. Click on any one of those small pictures and you'll get the large version.

NOTE: Another way to attach pictures just about anywhere within this Board is to enclose your pictures inside of [img][/ img] tags! This is done by uploading your picture to photobucket, myspace, or even here and then right clicking on the picture and viewing the properties.

IN those properties is the URL/Address link directly to your picture. Just copy that entire link (depending what site/service you used online, the string may be quite long) and then paste it within any post between the [img][/ img] tags. VIOLA! Submit that post and you've got the picture within the post (in the same size you saw it on the other page)!

Good luck... and happy computing! Oh and yes those [img][/ img] tags will work in your signature. Go to ther "User CP" link at the top of this page and then edit your signature. Note there is a limit to the number of characters than can be allowed in your signature so be "smart" on what photo's or how you handle photo's in your signature as those URL links to photo's are all counted as against that character restriction length. (Now I REALLY confused you didin't I?)

IE:
Code:
[img]http://www.MyWebsiteWhereMyPictureIs/TheDirectoryThePictureIsIn/ThePictureItself.jpg[/ img]
Each character in the code above goes against my allowed characters in my signature. (Now does that make sense?). I can't be much plainer than that, so I hope it helps.
