Cage Question--again!

:eusa_wall

O.K. Now we're really frustrated!! Our new cage came today, second try after the first came damaged...There are several scratches on the outside, especially on the seed guard. I think we probably should cut our losses, keep it, and try to touch it up ourselves.

What kind of paint can I buy? I have been told that Krylon spray paint is o.k., but I just want something to brush on the scratches...Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Barb and Leah

Any spray paint that is safe for children is safe for your birds. If you have had a second problem with the delivery of your cage, I suggest you contact the people you bought it from, complain LOUDLY about the inconveniences you've suffered as a result of their inefficiencies, and ask to be compensated. I got $200 bucks off my cage that way!!!

If you have matched the paint on your cage with a spray can, try spraying a glob of paint onto a plate and use a small paintbrush to touch up the cage..if you really feel it is necessary..

My son also bought a cage and had it delivered and it was not tied down properly and was badly damaged. He sent it back and reordered another one, when it came back it was not the same cage and was much smaller, not big enough for his alexandrine to move about and not damage his tail. He ended up getting money back and going somewhere else and paid half the price from "the warehouse". I would at least tell them you want some money back as it is damaged. You paid for a new cage in new condition and that is not what you got. My cages are second hand, in good condition, but second hand, so I cannot complain (and am not complaining either, just thought I would share)

Painting Cage

When you paint the cage (brush, spray or whatever) TAKE IT OUTSIDE and let it completely dry before introducing the birds. Some spray paint propellant components are almost instantly fatal to birds.

Thanks everyone. I think at this point, I will just rub some water-based acrylic paint (non-toxic--like for crafts) into the scratches and stop agonizing about it...We just want to get this little birdie home!
