Home Alone -- question about overnight travel

I need to be out of town for one night.

My situation is this:

One 30 year old Timneh Grey (yeah, that is old for a Timneh)
Two 10 year old cockatiels, the hen is laying infertile eggs again.
One 3 year old totally spoiled U2 who, thus far, is not psychotic.

I am afraid to board them for the reasons of the age of the elder birds and the emotional stability of the U2. There are no bird sitters in my area and if there were, my birds would probably bite the crap out of that poor person. The Grey actually growls like a dog at strangers.

If I were to leave them with plenty of food and water for a total of 30 hours at the most, would that be taking too much of a risk? My rationale is that if I boarded them, they would be alone for at least 12 hours anyway and if anything happened, there would be no one around to know it or do anything about it.

Your thoughts and advice is appreciated in advance.

I think it would be ok but does someyone have a key to get in in case theres an emergency and you dont get home? Id leave a radio on so the total quiet doesnt freak them out too much.

My friend's cockatiel was left for a day and a half without food, and died :( I think, if you pile up the food, and put in extra water bowls and new toys, it should be fine. I have left my 2 tiels for I think up to three days by themselves, with literally a pile of food, as well as the normal containers and one of those water jugs/ containers which seep water as it's drunk, but can't get soiled. They were fine when we got back, and actually had a weeks worth of food to spare! I wasted alot to make sure they were ok, but it's very much worth it!

i have left valo and nino alone overnight before... fill up the dishes with food (pellets or something else that doesn't go bad and that they like), fresh water and toys....

they should be fine - i think you're right when you say that boarding them for that short of a time frame would only freak them out more.

I've left my bird alone overnight, and they have been fine. It's not ideal (of course) and I timed it so that I fed them right before I left and as soon as I got back. They should be fine.

I was forced to leave my birds for 2 nights once, and they did fine. I put 2 extra bowls of pellets and seeds. Dont leave fresh foods. And extra water incase they bath in one bowl. I agree with leaving keys or let someone know that you are gone incase they have to get in.
