Hi all, I have been looking into getting another bird...right now I have a 5 mo old GCC s/he is wonderful, So I thought of getting another, and my hubby thought maybe we could try something a little different, can you please help me to decide!! I am looking for a bird that like the GCC likes to snuggle and love, and is fairly quiet, maybe a little more chatty, though not a screamer!! I have checked into the mustache parakeets, they seem to be a nice bird also! Any suggestions would be wonderful thank you!!!

I have heard Senegals are quieter parrots, and can be great pets. Personally, I've never had one, but they seem to fit what you're looking for. They are part of the poicephalus family, and are relatively small parrots, but a little bigger than a GCC. They can learn to make whistles and tunes (eg. phone ringing, microwave) and also talk. Hand reared males are usually the best choice, but all birds are different. My bird can talk and whistle but I'm quite sure she's a girl!
Check out other poicephalus parrots too! Good luck finding the right one for you! :D
