For toys that do not distruct during play i.e. get chewed up. I like to rotate them about once every week or two. This seems to keep my Hahn's happy and she does not get bored with the toys. She actully seems happy to have one of her old favorites back for a while. Remember even for the fids "variety is the spice of life".

I too change Rico's toys once a week. Every Sunday I set aside an hour or two to clean Rico's cage thouroughly. I have a bunch of extra toys that I keep in the basement. I replace the toys every week with something different from the basement. When I take Rico back to his cage when I'm done, he's usually excited to go back into his cage and check it out.

Yep, once a week is good. You don't need to throw out the old toyo, just put it back another time. It keeps them interested in their toys. Sometimes they do have a favourite that you can keep in the cage longer.
