I never made arrangements for my Beetle while he was here; I had mentioned to my parents that if something happened to me, I would prefer if they contact his breeder first for rehoming. If she was not available, I said my sister or niece could take him in. If they declined, I had 3 co-workers that would likely have considered it.
It's certainly an important aspect of pet ownership to consider. I am single and have no children and while my parents love animals, they are in their 70s and in fairness, I can't leave the responsibility to them. On a silly note, I like to joke that my friend's dog is a my "fairy dog daughter" ;) I bring her toys and organic treats when I visit!

Yep, my birds have godparents!! I would have you be Ollie's, but his old owner said that if anything went wrong that she'd like to have him back first. So you can be the back-up godparent if you'd like, Tiff! Heck, you can be the back-up for all three!

Well, I still live at home and my mum loves all my babies just as much as I do. The thought of getting rid of them if anything happened to me would be unimaginable for her!
macawlover- can I be Ollie's back-up, back-up godparent? Just kidding :D but I found out today that militaries go for $70,000 here, and there is a year's waiting list :(

Im glad this post was such a hit because as much as we dont want to think about it, anything could happen. Macawlover is a godmother to half of my birds and another member who doesnt post much, littlegreencoconut is for the other half. I am Macawlovers avairy birds godmother and as she said i can be her backup godmother for all three big birds, I will take that! As long as they are in good homes! Its so important that we al have a plan for our babies! Thanks for replying everyone!

If anything were to happen to me my mum would take my dog in an instant, but i doubt luke'd want to get rid of her if i went. she's my very first baby, my child, even!! he would hold her and love her through those long, sad lonely nights without me ;-)
Luke would keep Boo, he's his daddy :) if something happened to luke as well, i guess Boo could go to a few different friends, he's loved by everyone :) maybe MEL could be his godmother, if anything were to happen to his mummy and daddy <3 My bunny and guinea pig would stay with luke as well, but he'd probably try and fob them off to someone!! maybe GRACE! she's awesome :) there we go, list done :)
