Very Clever indeed. I don't think I have any shots of anything unusual, but I'll look around. I do have about 5 of the willow wreaths that I routinely use as swings in the macaw aviary. Perhaps I should make something for the medium birds instead. The willow wreaths don't last 3 days with macaws.

Wow have only just seen this thread and all the play gym's look great. I think I will have to be creative and make my own.
Tiki I know it was a while ago but if you are still looking for vetwrap you can get it around here. I know because I am going through rolls of it at the moment on an injured horse. It is called vetwrap or there is another brand with a different name (not sure what at moment). It is available at produce stores, saddleries and probably pet shops. Info might be too late, but might help you. |

This is the play gym I built for Alf. I made it out of dowels you can get at any building supply or craft store. I drilled the holes so they fit tight into each other and that way any peice can be replaced if it gets chewed off.
I made the cross peices different diameters so Alf's feet get a change as she walks around and I change out the toys hanging on it from time to time rotating some with the ones in her cage. The base was sized to accept our daily newspaper perfectly. Notice that I have a boing hanging over it when it is in this location. You will also see some future perches etc. leaning against the wall to the left.

This is my conure's play tree that I have on top of his cage. I was going to make it a table top play gym but, because he likes to be high, I thought he'd get more use out of one on top of his cage. I had a handy friend help me drill the holes and all screws are counter sunk. This could be easily modified for larger birds. There are four multi-branch bottlebrush perches attached at different heights all around so that the poo doesn't hit the other branches. The main piece is a large BB perch so the whole thing just bolts on top of the cage like a perch only vertical. I bought all the wood from Waynesparrotstuff.com as perches. The birds love to chew the bark off this wood! Total cost was probably around $20.
My GCC is fully flighted but chooses to spend most of his time up on his tree. He loves it!
