Linda - first of all, I am so sorry about your nape. I an an avid supporter of PDD research. This is such a horrible disease. Since it is such an enigma, and so much more is needed to be discovered before one can feel safe, my suggestion is to toss the stand. Better safe than sorry. Having gone through this once, I know you will not want to go through it again... and you will never feel comfortable anyway each time your new baby plays on it. JMHO.

There isn't enough information about the transmission of PDD to confirm or rule out the playstand is safe. I'd toss it, whatever it cost, it can't be worth the life of your precious Fids! On second thought, burn it so no one unwittingly picks it up from the kerb and gives it to their bird.
