advice on red rumper parakeet

hi there can u please help me with my 2 red rumpes.. i hand reared them from 2 weeks old, they are now 2 months, i give them lots of love and attention , but as soon as they started flying, it has become really hard to even catch them,to put them back in their cage, they dont seem to want to be handled or touched at all..infact they have become wild over night..does anyone know if red rumpes even make good pets or as all my hard work come to nothing?
