Frolicking With Penguins!

Well, this past week I got the chance of a lifetime; I attended a Sea World Career Camp. I thought all you bird people would like to to see the many pictures I took of the penguins! There are just under 200 penguins in the enclosure, and there are 4 species (All coldwater penguins, might I add): King, Rockhopper, Chinstrap, and Gentoo. Ask me any questions about them and I probably can answer! :D

Cool! Does that ring on their wing go all the way through the skin? That must hurt at first...
Looks like they liked you! Or whoever's face represents a black circle... lol

The rings used for identification go all the way around the flipper/wing at its smallest point, it never goes through the skin. And yes, that's me, I just wanna protect myself from cyber freaks, and theyre everywhere! The penguins are extremely curious, and basically swarmed you once you walked in!

Yes, this is the San Antonio camp, it was extremely hard work!

$1000 for Sunday @ 4pm til Saturday @ 8am, so 5 full days. Next year I'm going to a 2 week advanced version where the entire second week I'll specialize at the Shamu stadium. Every morning we'd be in the park by 7 to prepare fish, and we prepared somewhere between 500-1000 pounds of fish each days with no gloves might I add. It was amazing!

Ha well you have to be in high school, and you have to write some essays and do a coupld of medical tests. while youre there you have to review material and study, at the end you take an exam.
