I Lost My Budgie Of 5 Yrs!!!

Omg I Havent Came Here Forever Since My Last Budgie Died About A Year Ago And Im Afraid Sooooo Afraid My Budgie Is Dead Aswell Now Too!!!!i Put Him On The Back Porch To Give Him Some Outside Time Which I Never Do And When I Came Outside To Get Him He Was Upset So I Went To Take Him Out To Hold Him Again And Baaaaammm He Flew Outta My Hands Over The Fence And Im The Neighbors Yard Welll I Jumped The Fence Top Seee Noooooooooooooo Bird Anywhere I Walked Around Listening For Him Then I Heard Fldfldfldfldfldfld Like He Just Flew Away From Me In Some Direction,that I Couldnt See And Thats It I Been Trying To Find A Trace Or Glimpse Of Him But Nope Nothing I Left His Cage Outside Where He Flew Outta It But I Know How This Goes!!!i Read Alot Of These Stories And Im Sure He Wont Come Back And Worse He Will Die From This 100 Degree Weather And Starve For Sure!!!my Gcc Doesnt Know Anything Is Wrong But Im Soooooooooo In Aaww Right Now I Cant Cry Or Be Mad Im Just Like Sittin Here Thinking As Im Typing He Is Hungry Or Is Wounded Or Both!!i Told Some Neighbors Around Here And Looooked In Their Yards Aswell But 2 Yards Are Verrryyyy Dirty But Im Sure He Wouldnt Wanna Hide Under Stuff He's A Bird For God Sakes He Wants To See Things Coming At Him! I Looked High And Low Around My House Went Around The Block,nothing!!!!!!!omg Omg Omg Just This Morning I Fed Him Washed His Bowls And He Gave Me The "wings Up" Like He Does Eeeevvveerrryyyday I Wish Someone Knoew What To Do Or How This Feels To Be Unsure And Know He's Somewhere Out There!!!"sighs" I Dont Think I Can Do This!!!!and I Went From A Clipped Wing Guy To Wanting Them To Feel The Freedom To Fly,now Im Gonna Chop Off My Gcc's Wings Screw Letting Them Grow In Like I Did For My Budgie!!!!my Budgie Can Fly About 20 Feet Then Drops And It Takes Alot Outta Him To Keep Doin This So Im Very Worried About Him On Many Levels.i Just Needed To Vent And Tonight Will Be One Of The Hardest Nights Iv Had I Will Think Of Him And How He Feels And Will For Sure Cry All Night.i Dont Know How To Feel Mad,sad,dont Wait Keep Looking For Days? I Just Dont Know...and Its Harder Sitting Here,but I Been Looking For Him For 5 Hrs With No Sighting And Been Over The Same **** Twice And 3 Times I Wanna Blow My Head Off Its So Frustrating!im Done Cant Keep Typing Or Ill Go On Allday Just Trying To Keep My Mind Busy!

I'm so sorry this happened. You said you had a GCC? Maybe putting his cage outside may lure your parakeet back? Make sure to leave his cage in your yard where he can see it from afar, and of course leave food and water with the doors open. Also....post in the paper and on craigslist. Put flyers up locally too! where he took off from he cant see his cage from any direction except a couple places and i dont wanna move it from where he flew away at.And i will call the humane society tomorrow to let them know i lost him and to contact me if they hear of any seen budgies??????Some people around my neighborhood could care less and warn that their cats kill birds daily so i dont know,and worse some uncaring people had cockatiels i seen too...so whatever im telling you all now i feel all hope is gone and at the same time i feel i must look but then i feel like why try you couldnt even see him when he was no more than 20 feet from you so how you gonna find a needle in a hay stack?!!and even if i did see him how HOW HOW do i get him without this happening again right in front of my eyes?????I mean in the RARE RARE RARE RARE event he is seen then what?????look and wish he would come to me?chase him around town?i mean he obviously isnt gonna hop on down to me like he should so wtf!!!!!!!

I've caught an escaped bird, so if you see him just keep him flying and in the aned, he'll get tired and land on the ground- then you catch him. Go out and keep looking, don't give up! It hasn't even been a day yet! Ask everyone you see if they've seen him, put up posters and offer a reward. Ask your neighbours to keep their cats in, offer them compensation if they don't oblige (anything!) It's illegal for cats to be outside at night here. I wish it was everywhere. I'm sorry and good luck.

i put up posters and the neighbors directly around me know,but he isnt FULLY flighted and im upset alot of people wont let me look in there yards and rather offer to kee their eye out.Im thinking and hoping no cats have got him but he is TRULLY surrounded by cats in every direction.I phoned the humane society and local paper and got that covered .BUT i wish some people woulda let me in their yards when he had a good chance of being there.Ill keep looking but i feel little hope he just really isnt to outside keen he NEVER went outside longer than 30 seconds, and he only did that 3-4 times over his 5 year life.....

Still No luck for my baby i have been thinking and dwelling that he may not have made it since he hadnt been fully flighted ever and wasnt at the time.Today a lady callled me saying she may have him in her backyard and i asked where she was at"stuttering from shock"and she replied a distance of about 2-3 miles from my house which i am familiar with my WHOLE area for 50 sqaure miles and i knew it couldnt be him cause he woulda had tro be fullly flighted to get to were she lived.Anyhow she said he was on a tree there and he flew away and came back she said,also she mentioned he was banded which i INSTANTLY said NOPE not mine!BUT i told her exactly this "I know how someone feels and im gonna try to rescue him"she was more than helpfull and when i entered her house she showed me to her kitchen window and bam right there 5 feet away he sat there EXACTLY like my budgie Gus exept he looked much younger this guy,maybe 1 1/2 yrs old?And so i tried and tried to talk to him and let him perch on my finger but he wouldnt and evetually flew a short distance away.I trully seen he was FULLY to the bone flighted just like any bird you see out your window,But he looked as if he had just recently escaped because he was VERY good shape and was eating this ladys bird seed she had literally hjad surrounding this tree he was on!she feeds the wild birds and he seen all the seed and feeders hanging from her little tree.It was perfect and MANY birds were there along with this guy we couldnt catch him but we know he'll come back for more food and water we didnt have a cage handy to put food and water in and the spare cage i got is for my budgie if in the chance he returns.She said when he comes back her husband will try to catch him and she will phone me to let me know.But anyways i was just pumped up that someone phoned and was helpfull even gave me and my girlfriend water and put her cats indoors!!nice woman she was.Hopefully we can get this guy BUT he is VERY good "i would say you cant get better"at flying than this guy so he would need prolly a cage to get him right?

OK so someone called my girlfriend tonight saying he seen my fliers,and said he had ALSO seen another flier stating,that someone found a bird matching my description.And that i need to contact the haven humane for info"as if they took him there" so my main concern and worry is WAS THE FLIER NEAR MY HOUSE"the one that wasnt mine stating they found a similar budgie".Because i posted mine Very close to my neighborhood only AND if indeed he seen this other flier near mine then YES I THINK ITS HIM!But if they flier was across town then bad chance he wasnt fully flighted,BUT either way first thing tomorrow im calling haven humane to see if they have gotten any budgies/parakeets brought in.But i also gave them my info the second day i lost him so they better not of ignored that!So we'll see tomorrow the guy called late at night here well not really about 9:00 p.m.Weird thing is last night i had a dream i caught him and i never had a dream like that EVER not even the night i lost him....So im praying it's him.
