look what my friend gave me!!!

well my friend called me this afternoon and said he had a baby bird that wouldn't leave....he guards at a near by pool, i coach the swimteam...he said he found it in the gudder of the pool so he got it out dried it off and called me an hour ago. i just got back with him. he said the bird was there all day and would not leave. it was flapping his wings a bit...and i even saw him preen once. he is screaming for for food. his poops are clear and watery. i got him warm and he actually just fell asleep.

i attached photos....they're awful though SORRY!!!

I think he's a catbird/grockle/or cowbird but cant tell....i am gonna look online after i post this and look some more.

questions...

what am i gonna feed him? baby food? worms?

how warm should he be?

how often should he be fed?

oh! and i called the animal rehab place and they said they wont take him in...uhhh...and they would even tell me what to do or even give advice.

so any help please..:)

Every baby bird we had ever taken in, we just took dry dog food and softened it up real good in hot water, then by the time the dog food was moist enough the water was warm and not too hot for the baby bird and they gobble it up like crazy.
I wish you luck with this baby, and would love to see some clearer pics of him, babies are just the best.

Purina Puppy Chow to be exact... I too have done the very same thing. Just drop it down their throat. Until the crop looks full... about three to four pieces.
