Can they understand pregnancy?

Well long story short, dh & I are pregnant with #1.. and I feel like one of my parrots is taking this hard.
Our CAG has been great, soo sweet to me! But our Galah, whom was always my little girl, has completely changed. She still will let me pamper her, BUT she has a huge attitude to the point that she is biting me a lot, She has never really bitten me before I became pregnant.. that is why I think she is taking it hard.
Anyone here have this happen? What helps?
I keep reassuring Bella that she will always be my little girl and she does not have to worry but it seems like she does not believe me and her attitude is just getting worse day after day :(
Any help appreciated!

Thanks!

Congrats on the little one in the oven! :)

How old is your Galah? If she is reaching sexual maturity, the behavior may be due to that "adolescent phase" rather than a response to you being pregnant. Although - who knows - perhaps birds can detect human pheremones and the changes that occur in a pregnant woman and your Galah is having difficulty with the change!

Congratulations! How very exciting :D
Hmm... Animals always seem to have that "6th sense." Does she know there's a bub on the way? Perhaps she can sense the subtle changes that are happening to you, since alot of changes go on during pregnancy. On the other hand, it may be something completely different!
I think it's great of you to keep your fids even with a new baby coming along. You must be so caring. Good luck with your galah and keep us posted? :)

Congratulations on your little one to arrive. IMHO, I believe all animals sense pregnancy and will behave differently.
I took Newton to the office last year. One of the ladies was pregnant with her first child and Newt just "loved" her. He flirted and courted and regurgitated for her.

I truly think they all know. How they all behave I just think depends on personality and gender.
