Talking Guess What I'm Gettin?!?!

I finally found my bird! And it's been right undre my nose the WHOLE time! I'm gettin the Alexandrian that has been at the store for several months. Not to sure on age, it's around a year though. No idea what sex it is either. I'm SOOOO excited. I have to finish payin him/her off before I can take him/her home. It was a kinda mean bird that came from a lady in Georgia so I never really liked it till about a week ago when I really started talkin about gettin an Alex. and it jumped on my shoulder, gave me a kiss and we have been buddies every since then. Now keep in mind this was a bird who would run from you, try to bite you, and was just plain rude. But all he waned was someone to love him! He/she is such a good bird! (for me anyways)

They keep saying that our birds pick us. Yours did so quite literally. Good luck with him. It sounds like your rough start smoothed out nicely. May you live happily ever after.

Does anyone know the age that their ring starts to show? His/Hers hasn't even started to show yet.

What a great 'first meeting' story! I love remembering pets when they were in the petshop, before they were truelly yours... and then looking over my shoulder at them watching me. Yes, the bird does seem to choose the owner. Ash was kissing me, chattering and licking my ear in the shop where I got her :D Can't wait for pics!

Ya I work in the store I'm getting mine from. I always steered clear of it because It was always so unfriendly and so ruff lookin! (Poor baby's tail featers have been chewed off by the yellow collard mini maccaw it came with) And I was talkin about how I was sure that I wanted an Alexanderian and he hoped on my shoulder and gave me a kiss! I;m fixin to get it DNA tested so I can stop the He/She LoL and give it a name!

Congrats!!!! Seems as if your bird chose you as well! I remember being at out bird club's booth at a pet expo, and there were about 8 parrots there! So I would co from one to another giving them treats and drinks, when Oliver (who snapped at everyone else) stepped up onto my arm!! That's how we met. :D
