Now There are Three

One of the robin chicks has fledged and he made his way across the street. I found him in my driveway and tried to get him up to the hedges where he wouldn't get smushed. No luck but I managed to get him to a wooded backyard across the street....There's lots of cover there for him to hide in while his parents feed him and the other three left in the nest.

Here they are before we were down to three.

I walked around the area and could hear some 'baby' calls coming from somewhere. So at least he's safe from traffic and somewhere secure.

Great news :D It must be cool to have watched them grow and develop. I'd feel very attached to them (I'm very sentimental lol) Do you feel proud of them growing up and leaving?

I am and I worry for the little guy who's all alone with out his/her siblings to keep company out in the big scary world. The parents frequent the area he's at as there's lots of fruit trees (cherries!) that they visit. The poor guy has grub issues too. Trust me the parent birds love those cherries and got bopped in the head in the process too when removing the pits from the steps.

It's an amazing process but still I just hope all turns out well for them. I know they had a good two weeks but it's the fledgling time is going to make me hope that at least one will make it to be an adult robin.
