Soon to be Sun Conure Parent

Just looking for any tips because I am picking up my baby Sun Conure this Sunday. She/He just finished being weined and is 8 weeks old. So far I got her a big cage, a lot of bells and rope toys, and a happy hut. I also have a lot of play sets and a tree set-up for the conure to play on that my quaker is also happily occupying right now. Basically, for all you sun conure owners, what do the birds really enjoy? When I went to the breeders house on Wednesday and got to play with him/her I noticed that he/she was very active, and very very cuddly. After holding it for about a half hour the conure even seemed to prefer me over the breeder (like when the breeder went to go take her from me she hid under my chin and pecked at her, and the conure also wouldn't stop flying to me when she got back to the cage.) I'm picking the baby up in two days, and it feels like i've been waiting forever already. Thanks everyone!

Welcome to the forum and good luck on Sunday!!

Sounds good so far. We will need some pics as soon as you are able!! You may want to return the happy hut though some of the people here have had bad experiences with them. I have never owned one myself so I can only show you this link that was posted a few days ago about one persons post so here is the link happy hut horror

oooo AWESOME sun conure's are the best :) i found because they are so snuggly, he responded best to scratches and cuddles when training, other than food :) that's how i taught him not to poo on me!

good luck with your new baby, and buy some ear plugs if you want to sleep in! <3

p.s. PICS!!
