The big one is, if it was not pesticides and it was a fungus, then "How do you tell if the grape is bad?"
The only possible way I can think of is to buy Certified Organic grapes or any other produce/fruit. And I've seen the grapes from Chile, they are usually very large and state on the wrapper that it's from Chile.
Since we are on the topic of toxic food here are the en most important foods to buy organic

Thank you for such a good article. I'm hoping someone puts this in a file on this site as it's too important not to have for information.

This thread has been looked at 156 times..it's being read.

This news has also been posted on many many different boards, so believe me, it's not being passed over. Each time someone posts to the thread, it is put back on the top of the list, so as long as somebody posts, it will still be visible. I'm sure that once on of the Kev's is available, they will do what is necessary to see that this topic doesn't get lost.

This entire ordeal is very near to home for me..

Just a question about organic fruits. Aren't they still able to get fungus? I thought organic just meant that they were grown without the use of pesticides or chemicals of any sort, in land that had no chemicals. I am not sure but would have assumed they could still get fungus.

This is really scary!! One of Willow's favorite foods are grapes but thankfully I haven't fed him any lately. I wish this could have been discovered without losing any of those beautiful birds but hopefully this will influence other bird owners to be more careful with the foods they feed their fids. This is so sad...those birds should have had many more long years to live, but instead they died so prematurely from something thought to be a healthy treat. Thank-you so much for spreading this information.
