i jsut got a 6 month old cockatiel this saturday and i was wondering if it was normal for him to be loosing some feathers after preening. i had a GCC before i had him (passed away in jan) and he would rarly loose feathers.

It's possible he is going through a molt or a mini-molt. My tiels will usually lose a few feathers when they preen. It's not a concern unless there are other signs of illness or he has bald patches or appears to be plucking them out.

no theres nothing wrong i think they just fall out when he shaked him self after preening.
