Toys that your fids are amused with for, the longest period of time

Hey all,
Well... Canadian March Break is comming around(YIPEEEEE), and I'm coming down to visit y'all in the South(lol)!!! I'll be away for a week, and I'll have to leave my fids( :eusa_wall ) while I'm gone. My commited friend will be coming to my house daily, visiting, playing, feeding, cleaning, etc with the fids(Hey, what are friends for? LOL).

ANYWAYS... the only two fids I'm worried about while being gone, are my tiels(The rest of the fids, entertain themselves/each other). Espcially my only half bird/half human tiel Buddy.

So, I'm storming up ideas for toys to make them while gone that shall keep my 'tiels preoccupied. I was wondering, if any of you had ideas, or toy suggestions that keep your fids entertained for days.

I'm thinking I'll bring in some branches(disenfect them), drill many holes in them and stick sunflower seeds in them. That should keep them entertained for awhile lol. I'll also buy some large seed sticks. Etc....

SO ya, thanks a million for any suggestions :icon_smil

Here is a list from one of my bird mailing lists, where there was a discussion on things around the house we could use as bird toys...

>> straws
>> tissue boxes
>> paper bag
>> combs
>> mirrors
>> toothbrush
>> coins/change
>> empty pill bottle
>> empty toilet or paper towel role
> feathers
> Leather strips (vegetable taned or raw hide)
> beads
> popcycle sticks/tounge depressers
> Q-tips
> paper
> newspaper
> paper clips
> keys

Hope this helps!

For my tiels I get these big balls of twigs from our pet supply store. The tiels just love picking the balls apart. They willl do it for hours, all three working on one ball LOL They also love shredder pinatas. I replace them monthly.
