Company and then more company

This is how our day started today.

My guys out enjoying the slightly chilly morning.





Then our company arrived for a lunchtime cookout. Before I tell you who it is though, you have to guess. Here's a clue...





Well no sooner are they here when some unexpected company shows up. Meet Dixie the 9 month old greenwing macaw.



Unfortunately and I'm not sure what happened but I don't have any better photos or her. She's a duckbutt right now but has some lovely new tail feathers coming in. She is owned by one of my kids teachers. We met because he saw my birds on the porch of our old house, found out it was my kids living there then walked up and introduced himself one day. That was a fine day. He also has a female SI eclectus named Lexi.

So, who wants to guess who our company was? I'll post more photos in a bit.

They look like they are having a blast out there on their toys. And such beautiful fids.

It's always nice to meet and visit with other nice bird people because the rest of the world thinks we are nuts.

They may not be wrong but that doesn't mean we still can't enjoy gathering with our own kind!

Ding, ding, ding, we've got a winner folks!

Huntress, her husband and the drop dead gorgeous (and knows it) Calypso paid us a visit on Friday.

I've never had the pleasure of meeting a harlequin before and I gotta say, I am intrigued. I'd never have guess him to be 40 years old. Never. You can tell that he's happy, loved and spoiled.

Here's Calypso being oogled by my SO. He's been trying to talk me into a greenwing but I think he's been captivated by Calypso as well.





I think we had a great visit but I'll leave it up to Huntress to let you know if they did or not.
