A question for everyone with a Hahns or Noble Macaw...

For all of you mini-macaw owners...how big is your bird's cage? I have a baby Hahn's coming home sometime in August and I'm trying to decide on a cage.

Please share the dimensions of your cage!

Thanks,
-SB

Davey's cage is 18X18. It is maybe 30" high. I think many would say his cage is too small but he is rarely in it, only to sleep. It has a playtop and a play stand next to it. Between those two things and climbing in and out of his cage when I he is not with me it seems to be just fine. If he had to be locked in it all day I would probably look for a bigger cage for him.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for your reply. :)

Here's my dilemma. I have a 24"x22" that was *supposed* to be a 32"x23". They sent me the wrong cage...but I got it for a steal ($199) because it was a return, and now I'm thinking that I'll just keep it, because they'll charge me full price for the bigger cage if I return this one. It's a playtop...and they have a "tree gym"...and my birds are out pretty much whenever we're home anyway, so I think it might be OK.

It's bigger than Dave's and I haven't seen where his smaller cage has been a detriment to his well being. That is a good price. What does your breeder/pet shop owner say?

The breeder suggested a minimum of 24"x24". I'm still on the fence about it...I've always liked really big cages in general. My Goffin's is in the cage in the attached photo, it's HUUUUGE 69" x 40" x 72"...but being a Goffin's, he uses every inch of the cage. :)

I found the HQ 32"x23" this morning for $269 with free shipping which is a good price, so I think I might return the smaller one and get the bigger one instead.

Do you have a photo of Davey in his cage?

Thanks!!
