Not in the room with the bird. You can use it sparingly in other rooms behind closed doors, but use your common sense. Whatever is sprayed in one room will drift to another, although diluted, through the ac system.
Absolutely now scented candles, as this can cause instant death. Chemicals that get into birds lungs cause chem burns and birds are far too sensitive to this. If you must burn insense or something, do it behind closed doors and open a window shortly after burning. Dont open the door until the room airs out. The best air freshener> boil sticks of cinnamon or leave out a cut lemon or orange.

When we got Wawa, ALL the fabreeze when out the door. I know a woman who is recovering from cancer and her Dr. told her no fabreeze in the house. Makes you go hmmm... All that I have read says absolutely not, not perfumes, scented candles, room sprays, air fresheners, strong cleaning solutions etc... etc.... Check out safe things for birds on the internet. That will include foods, plants and so on. Good thing you had enough common sense not to use it.

I personally try hard not to.
And if I do then if the weathers nice the birds go on the back patio (where I can see them). -------------- Not a solution but just a side note: I have read that 15-17 medium sized house plants will remove 87% of toxins from a 2000 square foot house. I try to keep as any house plants as I can in my house to clean up the air and help fight disease... do some research and you'll see all the benefits. But make sure you keep your fids away from them unless they are parrot safe plants (even then I wouldn't let my fids near them, because I don't know what the store has used to fertilize the plants.)
