scale stand!

Awhile back in the fall I went to a bird mart in Albany and one of the things I had wanted to get were two "somethings" to use as ends so I could make a little stand for my scale. Well, I did pick them up, but never got around to making the scale until today! LOL

Lucky for me, I found a piece of wood on one of the toys that was almost the right length. I used a handsaw to saw off about a 1/4", and it was a perfect fit. I did have to drill a hole in one side. Very hard wood, LOL, but I did it!

Here are a couple photos of the stand, and then some of each birdie weighing in with it. :~) I hope you don't mind all my pics!

The stand

Cypress
This guy was one of the main reasons I wanted to make a stand originally. He got very nervous on the flat surface.

He still wasn't too sure and scooted as close to Mulberry (on the gym out of the pic) as he could get.

He weighed in at 243 grams. Those boys are quiiiiite close in weight! LOL He did settle a little but stayed to the side . . .

Thumbs up thankyou

What a great idea. My birds don't like flat surfaces either. I'm going to make one tomorrow. You just made my life a little easier. I love the fids they look so happy. Joan
