I am afraid I will lose him!

The breeder gave some pellets that Flip had been eating when I got him and told me they would last about a week. MOST of them are still left. I knew he was not eating much at all and losing weight and I got a scale and weighed him. He weighed 91 grams on Wednesday. Today he weighed 88 grams.
I had tried to entice him to eat with pine nuts and almonds and fruits and veggies but nothing seemed to appeal to him much.
He ate a little grape and a little banana on occasion and tiny bits of carrot and green beans but without gusto and just doesn't seem to care.
Today I resorted to giving him seeds. I hate to do that but...
Can anyone help me?

Is he a baby? Maybe put him back on supplemental formula? Or consult your vet?

Yes I would try that. Also try soaking the pellets and warm them up a little so they are mushy and warm (comfort food). You can also try some oatmeal or cream of wheat. Just make sure it isn't hot!!! You could burn his crop. Just warm!

Flip was hatched April 23 and I have had him almost two weeks. I was able to contact the breeder and she said she thought he was just not happy being seperated from his mates. She also suggested adding oat groats every other day and some oatmesl from a spoon.
The first week I had him I had his cage a couple feet away from where I work on the computer and just talked softly to him and also played medatative music for him when I wasn't in the room. Nuts? Couldn't hurt though, right?
Then I started bringing him out with just me in the room a couple times a day and the last couple days have been bringing him out in the living room to sit in front of a window and for him to interact with my husband.
I have been tring to acclimate him to his new home slowly.
What more (or less?) should I do?

What kind of fid is Flip? I had run into the same problem with my baby fid. It just take perseverence and patience... he will pick up on your stress too. Try moistening up the pellets and feeding them to him by spoon or by hand. i also ended up adding some crushed peppers to the pellets to make them more appetizing for her.

Let us know how you are doing.....

I'd put down some seeds for him. It may not be the diet you want him on and it can be fixed at a later date, but the main thing is to get some food in his belly eh? Most birds can't resist seed...
