It would be cool to see more bird shows, just hope that none of the shows that I like go off the wagon because of them. =P

if you really step back and think about it as to why they don't it comes down to ratings...

Not that a parrot show wouldn't be watched but if you say poll 1000 american households and got feedback of a projected number who would watch a show geared on say parrots vs dogs, cats, reptiles, horses etc or the network is going to put shows on that hit home on a more common denominator within the population. By doing this they would garner higher ratings / more ad dollars. I am not trying to be the pooper but when I think about it this makes total sense.

Great, just what the world needs. A show showing just how cool and amazing our birds are. Then every idiot, moron and freak has to have one.

Better start getting more shelters started for the influx of unwanted birds that people thought were so cool then learned whats really involved.

Count me as another party pooper on this one. I like having a low profile pet. So to speak of course.

They could do a show like the dog whisperer but hopefully legit (uhh that Ceasar Milan guy) that knows what they are talking about, you know where they go and help people that are having problems with their pre-existing birds

I dont think birds are exactly low-profile I guess it depends on where you live, I think people with birds would watch it and people would be turned off by seeing what they are really like

It would be good to have a shopw about birds! Most people think that all birds can do is talk and sit on your shoulder, But there is MUCH more to birds than that! I mean how many people knew birds could do tricks befor they owned a bird? and Where I live there is about 5 people owning a pet bird and I would like more! A show on animal planet would get more people into owning birds!
I think a bird show would be great ratings!!.

I agree, it certainly would be good to have a show that had a bird behavioural specialist who went around to bird owners houses to help teach the owner what to do in order to make a troubled (screaming, plucking, aggressive) parrot more healthy and happy in its environment. This would teach parrot owners better care and training for their parrot, and the visual aspect would help many people. The show would also demonstrate to would-be bird owners that although birds can be pretty and playful, they can also be a hand full and there is lots of work involved to provide the proper care for them.
