yes thats my point exactly. the show wouldnt be made to promote owning a exotic bird it would be to promote take care of them and dealing with behavior problems. pretty much like barking mad, its me or the dog, and house cat house call. but strictly for exotic birds. i think alot of owners could learn a little form these type of shows. and our birds could as well. and if more people start owning birds due to the show that would be great, because less birds would be dieing in shelters waiting for a owner. think of it in this view point.

Are you kidding me? Most people want a cute, cuddly little baby that they can screw up themselves. They don't want a bird with issues.

How many peeps here have a hand raised baby or are looking for a hand raised baby vs. the number that have rehomed birds?

I'll start the count. I have one hand-raised baby and all the rest are rehomes. I do have two breeding pairs that one day may produce young but as of yet have not.

A show showing how awesome they are will create a great demand for birds. A show showing how to "fix" the problems will show that the birds can be trained and are cool.

Any publicity as to how cool birds are will create a greater demand. That means more babies produced, not more getting rehomed.

How many people do you think rush out and buy a CAG after Alex was in the news before his untimely death? Bet its a huge number.

I'm on the fence on this one. On one hand, I'd enjoy watching more shows about parrots. I think they're interesting. On the flipside, I guarantee you a show wouldn't have good ratings if it showed all the bad things about owning parrots. And shows with good ratings don't fly.

Yes they can be trained, yes bad habits can be worked through - but it's not easy, and it can be very taxing. I guarantee they'll make it look like a cinch - and birds are (no offense to cat and dog owners) a bit more complex than a dog or cat in solving a behavioral issue. Personally, I'd like to see more shows on wild parrots. :D
