Thumbs down I'm pretty sure it's a scam...

But I might as well keep you all posted right?

As I've posted in the introduction section, we are looking for a bird. I ran through several rehoming ads for good deals on birds. We aren't opposed to paying a larger amount, but less is better, ya know? I have a person on here helping me out a bit, and hopefully things will work out...excited to hear back about that, but anyhow.

Well...I've recieved back from a guy (or a woman, who knows?) looking to rehome two B&G macaws.

Here is the first e-mail I recieved back.

"Good day Day
Thanks for showing interest in our Macaws parrots and I also love to receive
emails from bird lovers, actually I am not selling the birds, just trying to get them taken in by a good and loving family that can offer them lots of love and care. If you don’t mind I may want to know a little about you,
Where are you located
Have you had a birds before and how many are you seeking to take in?
Are you a religious person?
I hope these birds if taken by you will be a family pet and will not be used for breeding and showing. So many people are seeking to offer
homes for them, but still have to be confident of who i am giving my
babies too. I hope you are not upset by all the questions and can
understand with me on this.
I will be hoping to hear from you again.
Best Regards"

So we played along, answered the questions vaguely...after all, there was nothing really disclosed there. Pretty fishy if you catch the typos, run ons, and just the general feel.

And here is the second reply. I'll bold some of the funny areas....

"Good day
Thanks for your mail and i am so happy your family is ready and will take good care of my bird. Its all so nice you are such a loving family who have had experience with birds, also i am happy you understand why i asked all those questions, there are alot of evil people out there who will want to take advantage of these animals and use them for thier selfish purposes, but that all thesame i think am very confortable letting you take in one of my birds or even a pair of you may wish.My husband and I just relocated to Barcelona-spain and I work for the Baptist Mission Orphanage, since i only get to adopt my birds and i ask no fee for that because they are my babies, you will only have to take care of the papers(change of ownership certificate) and shipping and since we have shipped to the U.S before and we also have an exportation license, that wont be any problem for me to get the birds shipped over to you ,but still if you are not comfortable still, please do let me know as soon as possible. The birds are one and a half year old and have had frequent vet checks. They can fly and have already learn to spit out some words in English and spanish, and also very friendly to people. We named this pair Ronnie and Nira and they have always been very dear to us.Below is a picture of my wife and the birds. We may not be in a haste to give them out but pray we get a loving and caring person or family to get to adopt them. Hope to read from you again and Have a nice day.
God Bless"

I love how it says my husband and I up top, and then a picture of my wife and the birds...

As for the pictures...I'll try and get those up as soon as possible. There are three, same woman in all...

We'll see how much shipping turns out to be in the reply. That should be the kicker.

Not planning on acting on any of these. I'm simply along for the ride. Provides good entertainment, while they last.

There is a similiar scam going on with dogs, where the missionary is just looking for a good home for them.

Find where their ip address is coming from on both e-mails, wouldnt it be something if they werent in Spain lol but some random country in Africa or South America

If you really want to take them for a spin ask them to put your name on a piece of paper and take a picture of it next to the birds, and tell them you will ONLY pay through paypal to avoid scammers, also ask for references and their phone numbers the birds vets, people they know ect, along with talking to them on the phone.

I have a feeling you wont get a reply back.

Someone here had a very similar email when they enquired about a pair of CAG's.
They also thought religion played a part in owning a bird and they too got confused when taking about gender... but they confused the genders of the birds and not themselves.
