If you feel it is hurt, then do not put it back outside where you found it as it could end up as prey. Do you have a dog? If so take some dog kibble and soak it in water until it is soggy (completely soaked through). Once it is soggy drop one piece at a time (can break each piece into two) down its throat until his crop looks to be full. (Usually 2-4 pieces) Keep the baby in a dark, warm and quiet place away from your pet birds if you should have any. Call a vet in the a.m. to see if they have the phone number to any rehabbers in your area that deal with birds.

A robin was the first bird I had when I was a kid. I fed it what its mother did... worms. Seemed to work. Then I released it and it did fine.

I agree...worms.
BUT!!! If you can't find the nest, I would immediately call a wildlife rehabilitation centre in your area and take the bird there. They will be much more able to care for the little fellow.

depnding on how much you love your food processor you can girnd up worms and water and use an eye dropper. That is whaat I did as a kid when we saved the "wild" birds" and a heat lamp for warmth
