Yep... looks like a robin all right.

If you go look where you found it... there is probably a nest nearby. Robins are more than happy to accept a returned baby. Please try to do so... it really will be much happier!

Well honestly it seems to be hurt. It wouldn't do much good in the wild.

How do you figure it is hurt?

It is illegal to keep it. The American Songbirds Act of 1908 (may have year wrong) is pretty strict.
