Please read?!

We changed my birds diet a couple of weeks ago- before, it was a lot of seeds and some nuts, and then we'd give him some fresh vegetables, fruit, and once and a while cooked wheat pasta. We got the brand "Kaytee" which has a lot of seeds, nuts, dried fruits, and supplements in it, and still give him fruits, vegetables, and pasta. It seems that around the same time we changed the food, his poop got brown, loose, and watery. It happens a lot, but sometimes it will go back to normal for a little while, then go back to brown. Is this because we changed his diet? Could it be something bad? The poop still has some form to it, but it is just everywhere. Is this serious, or does this happen to you, too?? Please help!

??? I dont know, I dont feed mine pellets or seeds since I have an ekkie
he is on bird-elicious, kashi 7 grain cereal (puffs and nuggets), and go-raw granola for dry foods

he also gets 2 warm meals a day consisting of bean and sunflower sprouts with brown rice or quinoa pasta and fruits and veggies

but I would think he may need some time to adjust to the new food? maybe the supplements upset his tummy? Hopefully someone that uses Kaytee with chime in.

my U2 & B and G both get watery stool if they eat fruit or veggies high in water. Like watermelon or pineapple.

Also he just might be drinking more water than normal when you see this.

Hi Karley!

For me it's normal to change the composition of their feces during the early days… Although I think it's better to make changes in diet gradually. It is important to note that you eat and not eat… If you eat vegetables is normal that are more liquid stools…

How many shots you give a day? Each takes you give the same? It ends everything that you offer? All feces are equal? ...

It could put a picture and would help us enough to be able to help…

I often consulted by people liquid feces and appears to be normal (relatively) if they give fruits and vegetables. In Spain is usually give two diets, one in the morning (fruits and vegetables) and one in the afternoon (seeds or pellets or a mixture of both). It is important to adjust the quantities to prevent the parrot eat more than one thing to another and result in nutritional imbalances cree…

I hope I can continue to help.

Excuse me for language…

David
