Exclamation How can i get my cockatiel to stay on my fingure when he steps up

he will step up but not that much. when i get him on my fingure he stays for like 5 seconds then jumps to the floor or sumthing. i want to teach him to stay on my fingure and to step up better. Any tips or hints to help me out here.

If he has a favorite treat, when he does step up, give it to him and praise him, and each time he steps up he gets a treat he will start thinking. "hmm if I get on this dude's finger I get something to eat" LOL
That might be a start.

clip his wings for now till he gets used to the idea! then doing this all the time he won't fly away after some time and you can let the wings grow back.

Clipping ings during trainging is not crue. It helps train them and with the "Fight or Flight" behavior.

Is Petrie allowing you to give him scritches yet? if so, I'd say reward him with that or a piece of millet to nibble on while on your finger. Then he will learn to associate your hands with good things.

fingure? It's finger. I'm guessing English isn't your first language though. Even still, spell check is very easy to use.
wow I must sound so rude, but bad spelling really gets to me sometimes.

LOL, I ALWAYS notice when things are misspelled in books, signs, etc. and it strikes me funny! Don't worry cockatiel92 (or whatever that number was...I forget)...Albert Einstein couldn't spell either!
