Black Cockatoos again

A couple of days ago the black cockatoo's were back in the neighbours tree on the footpath. I took a couple of photo's, in one the bird flew from one branch to another before flying off. i have planted the same tree in my yard, it came up as a seedling. I look forward to seeing the beautiful birds in my yard, but not the destroying of the tree. Guess the tree will grow back though.

I'm VERY jealous myself!

I was able to see a couple of these beauties at the San Diego Zoo last year..could have sat there and watched their antics all day and not gotten tired of looking at them!

WOW..that is my dream bird.....
I hope to someday visit Australia to see the birds and the great barrier reef.
I would also like to go to Africa, in the jungle... and observe the birds there.
Some women want spas, beaches and stuff like that...nope..gimme a jeep....binoculars.....and some native parrots....
and this girl is happy.....Oh..BTW...it would really be nice to have a toilet on these ventures...since I dont do trees.
Think I'm asking for too much out of life?? :aiwebs_01

Lisa.....LOL.....trust me, in Africa and in the Amazon....you do trees or burst! Ain't no choice! LOL IN Australia we are a little more accommodating with public conveniences so you might want to come here first!

Tracey, gorgeous pics....I never see black toos in the suburbs, we get white toos and there are galahs in the surrounding areas.

Lisa and Tiki, the going to the "loo" reminded me of a camping episode we had a few years ago. We went bush, which meant no ammenities. The girls (we had 3 living with us then) jumped out of the car and said "where are the toilets?" I gave them a shovel and toilet paper and pointed "that way, and dig a hole big enough." They were horrified. I think they turned up with make up and hair dryers. LOL. We have been told there is to be no more camping without ammenities. I don't know, kids just have no sense of adventure. LOL It was funny though.

When my mother was talking to me she told me of an episode when they were travelling around australia (they were on the inland trip). They camped bush most of the time, but their caravan had a toilet and shower in it. Mum said she saw this woman obviously go looking for a "toilet" spot. She found a clump of trees, looked around to make sure she could not be seen, then proceeded, mum was horrified, the trees did not have branches on the last 2 feet to the ground, so my parents were treated to a floor show. LOL. I have always remembered that and look for 'bushes to the ground" now. I don't want to "moon" anyone. LOL

ROTFLMAO, Tracey! :icon_lol:

Yeah, when I was bumming around Africa in the 90's and doing some camping safaris, I quickly learned NEVER go anywhere without a sarong! :icon_eek: I also learned not to drink too much while on the road! LOL

I saw a palm cockatoo for adoption in Maui, Hawaii... Came home, went to the local bird store, and saw two photos of quite possibly the same EXACT bird! The waterfall and lighting looked quite familiar as did the branching so it was pretty neat. It was quite interesting to have been able to view him while playing with a bunch of babies! (suns mainly, though there was a cockatiel, and two white cockatoos)
