It's Raining Parrots!

I just got a great surprise--my wife and kids got me a late birthday present--by Thursday evening I'll be living with a recently weaned sun conure! . . . of course, I'd just made arrangements to adopt a five year old Hawk-headed parrot as well . . .

Anyway, I'm really excited. Not sure how I'll be able to quarentine them seperately in a house this small, but I'm sure I'll think of something. Perhaps I can convert the kid's bedrooms into bird roo . . . .oh right. Legally I do need to provide the kids with shelter . . .

I'm sooo excited!

Poohsbirds is correct. We need lots of picks. What a thoughtful birthday present. I can't wait to see pictures of the Hawk head too. They are such a cool looking bird.

Congratulation on your b-day gift.I have a friend with a Hawkhead it was a rescue but it looks nothing like yours it has almost no feathers but it is loved and cared for.Now for the quarantine is there any reason you can't keep each bird separated in your child's room?As long as the bird is in closed quarters and isn't in contact with your other birds for the 30 days you should be fine.I was looking at your signature and I see you have some Eclectus too.
Interesting flock.

Wow hawk headed parrot, that is one I have never heard of before so had to google them. I love hawks and those parrots are the neatest looking things.

Congrats on your new sun and good luck with the hawks head.
