Question: About Sun conure hybrids

I was browsing on this site and saw that someone had a sun conure green cheek conure hybrid. Is this possible? I thought they weren't capable of doing that. Just curious, I don't want my birds to breed accidently since they are always playing out together all the time. If this is true what others can hybridize? Thank you.

can you post a pic of it please? or the link. i've never seen a sun x green cheek but i have heard of them before. it sounds like an interesting mix.

your won't breed unless they have a nest box, they are a true pair, etc. just haveing them out at the same time won't result in any breeding. relax...lol

I've added the hybrid sun pics to my "gallery" of hybrids...
MonicaNFids/Hybrids - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

All aratinga conures can hybridize with eachother... they can also hybridize with the nandayus genus, as well as ara (macaw). I've seen a picture of a patagonian/nanday? hybrid, so they can probably also hybridize with the patagonians (I only wish I could find that picture!).

I have seen only one report of a quaker hybrid, so it is unsure if they can hybridize or not with conures (and I've seen no proof). I've heard of a few reports of a sun/gcc before, but never proof until these pictures. As it is now, not many people believe that it is possible to hybridize the aratinga & pyrrhura conures together...

I have a sun jenday hybrid we got her from a bird swap meet from people who just decided they did not want her anymore. As far as crossing goes if they do breed successfully the hybrids will be mules (sterile) at least that is what I heard I know when the canadian geese show up and breed with the domestic the offspring are mules. I have heard of alot of diffy birds being bred to each other the one that surprised me most was someone crossing a hyacinth with some other macaw for the life of me I cannot remember the other the outcome wasnt very pretty imo.

in my sig Cayenne is the hydrid she is considered a Sunday Conure
