Exclamation Lovebird Beak Advice

Today while in a local pet shop I saw a little lovebird sitting on it's own in a little cage, no toys and just chattering away to it's little self. Couldn't leave it there so now it's home.

I've never had lovebirds or even looked into having one so I'm not sure what's normal and what's not. I may just be concerned over nothing?
The beak looks odd. The lower part has a greenish tinge and the very tip is a dark brown/black... is this normal for a peach front. Could it be a baby beak just growing out?

Also, the green of the feathers looks very muted. From photos I've seen of peach fronts the green looks very vibrant. Another baby thing?

Other than this the little guy seems very energetic and vocal. Enjoying treats and toys.

Congrats on the new fid!! I'm sure she appreciates being out of that store!

What kind of diet was she on at the pet store?

I'm thinking that the beak issue is just a baby thing, and that it'll turn orange/yellow in just a matter of weeks. The feathers I'm not so sure about though...

Thanks!

Looked like a budgie seed mix.

She doesn't seem to know what to do with all the fruits and vegetables I've just given her, but I'm sure that'll change when she's settled.

Congratulations and what a good deed you've done!!!
She looks adorable and already seems fond of her new parent!
Baby feathers are new quite as vibrant and if she is mutation, her feathers may be of a different colouring.
Beak bottom looks normal, btw, as is the black on the tip...should grow out of the latter.
As long as she is chattering away and happy, I'd say you've done well!!
I'm sure you'll spoil her to no end....

Thanks for that. I feel dumb, but I'd rather ask a stupid question and be on the safe side.

She's a cute little thing. She's not ready to fly to me or step up for me, but I know we'll get there eventually. She's had a fly around and she's now just playing with her toys and deciding if she likes her hut or not.

Thanks again!

Peach-faced lovebirds come in a wide variety of colors (mutations). It's hard to say exactly what your new little friend is from the photo but chances are that the colors will be more vibrant when s/he molts in the next few months.

The beak looks normal. Most peach-faced lovebird beaks are a "horn" color, which is kind of a pale yellowish, almost ivory color. See Jim's Benji two posts above this one for reference. Some retain the slight green tint at the edges.

Lovebirds are really wonderful little parrots. I'm sure that you're going to love having this little feathered friend in your life :)
