I think Ive been contacted by scammers

Got this email this morning

Hello,
I saw your ad on allclassifieds.com.au,i have a Beautiful Severe Macaw parrot available. DNA Male, 2 years old. Great condition. We are looking for an experienced home. Macaws can be VERY loud. It is important that he have lots of time out of the cage. He likes to go around on his cage or sit on his play stand or just be around his flock. He is good with his toys and is not destructive. His cage and play stand are newer and he comes with lots of toys and food. He eats a variety of fruits and people food as well as a pellet diet. He is a very social bird and loves to be involved with what you are doing whether it is watching TV or sitting outside. He is good with cats and dogs.Get back for the pictures.

A parrot thats not destructive!! Doubt it!! Then I got this one after I said not sure what ad you saw, (I advertise baby tiels etc on this site) but said yes I would love a macaw but they cost too much. then got this just a second ago.

Thanks for your interest,i am in Brisbane i am making arrangements to visit my wife currently working out.I may possibly spend four months with her and i cant leave without providing him a loving home.He is after $800,my priority is that he finds a loving and caring home where he will be treated like royalty.Check the attached pictures.

Yep been playing along with them this morning and said you better send me account details as I am about to go to lunch and the bank and get your money out for a deposit so I dont miss this deal. And dah dah its the cameroon scammers!! Took it to the police station even though they havent committed a crime, but they are using a real Queensland drivers licence as the "wifes identification". It is a real id so cops are going to look into whether its stolen.

There probaly isnt even a bird at all. Its funny me and my hubby were watching the Olympics today and we seen the Country of Cameroon vs. some other country for whatever event and we both looked at each other at the same time and started laughing and joking about exotic birds being their mascots and stuff. Like they should have a Hyacinth as part of their countries logo on their track suits or something.

i think that generalizing the whole country is a little harsh don't you, by your standard i would be a gun toting terrorist who bombs innocent people what with me coming from Northern Ireland a country full of IRA bombers. sorry but you need to be careful about generalizations they can be very offensive, i know that there are lots of scams that come from Cameroon but for all you know its just one man and not the whole country so please don't generalize and watch the language eh

Gotta love the scams, just today somebody put on our local Craig's list a PAIR of hyacinth macaws FREE. I am not even wasting my time. I have learned that if there isnt a location after the subject of what it is, and its not local, its not real.
Would be nice to get a pair of hyacinths free though LOL

I reckon!! Wouldnt mind an $800 macaw myself. I like playing along with them to try and get info out. Even though no crime is committed if I dont send money at least the police have the drivers licence that they were using and they can check to see if it has been reported stolen or inform the person that it belongs to that it is in the hands of scammers. Apparently there are some overseas scammers that convince people to forward their identification for bogus products. Maybe this is how they got this womans id, some kind of fraud like that. How awful would it be to have the police contact you to say scammers in cameroon are using your name and identification to commit fraudulent acts!

Yeah I remember once I contacted a woman that had advertised locally a blue and gold for free, so I contacted her. Her email reply to me was oh you just pay the $250 for me to ship him and cage to you from the Republic of something or other, dont even remember the country. I was like uhhh i dont think so you send me the bird and a receipt of how much it cost and I'll redeem you that amount...
Never heard from her again LOL
