been through a major move???

HI you guys!!!

I havent been around much for the last week... and the reason for this is that all of a sudden my husband decides that he is sick of our house and wants to go house shopping!!

Well, (of course).... that has led to us putting an offer in on a house last night....(we are still waiting to hear if they accepted the offer)....

What do you guys think this is gonna do to Milo??? Oh my gosh... I dont dont what to expect...he has his routine down...but on the other hand he really does like adventure as well....

Please dont let him go through that plucking thing like when I had the flu......poor little guy.... Milo is my 6 almost 7 month old CAG by the way :aiwebs_02 . This is a great age... he's getting crazy on me now..... his latest is to sound off like a police siren..... over and over again....then he says hello (in his own voice) very clear...then pretty pretty....and then come here...

He also has said STOP IT AUSTIN....very clear in the mornings.. :eusa_clap

Austin is that stupid jealous yorkie that has been barked at him non stop since the day he came through the door... lol...

I cant wait for the day Milo sends Austin to his box...heeee.

Anyway, got off track there, but yeah, he is doing so well....I wander how this move is going to affect him, Have any of you guys gone through one??

Emma

We went through a move with Humphrey. Humph lived with us a year and a half in one house, then we moved. With Humphrey, it actually made him closer to us. I think that since the whole environment was different, Humphrey clung on to what was familiar to him - that being my husband and I. Humph was a 'second hand' bird and was just starting to warm up to us, and moving houses with him sealed the deal - he decided he liked us after that. In fact, the second day in the new house was the first time Humphrey flew over and landed on me.

He also had a great time when we had all the boxes around - he thought it was his own personal playground with boxes to land on and chew.

I think Milo will be fine - they're resilient little guys. Give him extra TLC.. However, I don't know the Milo plucking story - what happened there?

Good luck,
Michele and Humphrey

I moved with my 4 parrots from FL to NY and they all took it in stride. Even though it was a new place, all their things, and comppanions, were the same . . . didn't really seem to effect them at all! Very adaptable!

Emma,
I agree with the others. Milo should be fine in the move. As long as you provide him with proper attention, he should be fine. Start talking about the move with him. Let him know what's going on. Remember, these are smart birds, they understand more than we give them credit for. Good luck with everything. Let us know how things work out.

Have a grey't day

Emma, I just have to say you're very sweet. I can imagine you discussing an upcoming move with your birds. You must really love and respect them. You've made my day with your post!
